Pam Deem concentrates her law practice in all areas of complex commercial and business litigation, including business disputes, defamation, and insurance matters. Although her practice is primarily defense work, Ms. Deem also represents individuals and corporate entities that are plaintiffs in commercial and business disputes.
Ms. Deem is a graduate of Wittenberg University (A.B., 1975), and the West Virginia University College of Law (J.D., 1977).

Ms. Deem began her legal profession at the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia in 1977 where she served as a writ clerk. From 1978 to 1980, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sam R. Harshbarger, Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia. From 1980 to 1988, Ms. Deem served as a per curiam clerk of the Supreme Court, the last several years of which she served as clerk to Justice Richard F. Neely.
Continuing her legal career, Ms. Deem served as a law clerk for the Honorable K. K. Hall, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, from 1988 to 1990. She then served as a clerk for the Honorable Dennis R. Knapp, Senior United States District Judge for the Southern District of West Virginia, from 1990-1994. Following her federal clerkships, Ms. Deem launched a private practice where she represented clients in the areas of commercial and business litigation.
Ms. Deem is a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference, and she is a member of the Defense Research Institute. She is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Tenth Circuit.
Ms. Deem was recognized in the 2012 edition of West Virginia Super Lawyers for her work in the area of business litigation. She has also earned a distinguished ranking for ethical standards and legal ability from Martindale-Hubbell.
