Brandy Bell is a member of the firm’s Morgantown office, practicing in the areas of civil defense litigation with a focus on insurance law, employment law, government and municipality law, environmental toxic tort law, and personal injury defense.

Ms. Bell provides skilled guidance and strong advocacy to employers throughout West Virginia. Her practice is geared toward preventing employment law issues when possible and resolving them quickly when they do arise. She is well-versed in and assists clients with employment law and human resource matters, as well as defends employers in employment-related suits involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour issues. She regularly advises employers regarding workplace issues, including Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, disability accommodation, disciplinary issues, performance management, wage and hour compliance, and policy implementation, review, and enforcement.

Ms. Bell further focuses on government and tort law.  She has represented governmental and municipal clients for nearly fifteen years.  Ms. Bell helps these clients successfully maneuver through legal complexities enabling them to focus on their communities.  She has defended cities, towns, counties and other governmental entities in litigation throughout West Virginia.

She is a former member of the Clarksburg law firm of Walters, Warner and Harris.  Super Lawyers named Ms. Bell as a “Rising Star” as selected by her peers in the legal profession, a distinction she has earned each year since 2012.

Ms. Bell graduated cum laude from Fairmont State University in 2001. She went on to graduate Order of the Barristers from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2004. She is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern District of West Virginia, as well as the Supreme Court of Appeals for West Virginia.  She is also admitted to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania.

Within the legal community, Ms. Bell is a member of the American Bar Association, West Virginia Bar Association, Harrison County Bar Association, Monongalia County Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, and Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.

Ms. Bell is a member of the Bridgeport Juniors where she serves as co-chair of the International Committee.  She has helped organize a water walk for NURU International, which is on a mission to end extreme poverty in remote rural areas. She is also a member of the Clarksburg League for Service, is a volunteer with the Harrison County Humane Society, Bridgeport Little League and the Morgantown Hockey Association. She has served as a team captain for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.  Ms. Bell resides in Bridgeport, WV with her husband and two children.
