Charleston, W.Va. (February 17, 2017) – Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC is pleased to announce that Courtney A. Kirtley has joined the firm as an attorney practicing in the areas of commercial and financial law. Ms. Kirtley will serve the firm’s clients from the Fayetteville, West Virginia office.
At Kay Casto & Chaney, Ms. Kirtley counsels clients in the areas of general business, and commercial/financial law, a focus that entails banking, bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, consumer protection, as well as real estate. Before joining Kay Casto & Chaney, Ms. Kirtley served as a law clerk to the Honorable Gary L. Johnson (28th Judicial Circuit; Nicholas County, W.Va.), and she was an attorney in the commercial/financial group at the firm of Bowles Rice LLP.
Ms. Kirtley is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.A., Psychology and Art History, magna cum laude), and the University of Notre Dame School of Law (J.D., cum laude). In addition, Ms. Kirtley is a graduate of Leadership West Virginia (Class of 2007).
Within the legal community, Ms. Kirtley is a member of the West Virginia State Bar, serving on the Board of Governors as the Elected Representative for District 11 (Nicholas, Fayette, and Greenbrier counties). She also served the West Virginia Bar Association as the President of the Young Lawyers Division (2006-2007). Separate from the legal industry, Ms. Kirtley is active in the West Virginia – Ohio Youth Leadership Association, as she is a member of the Board of Directors and a member of the Youth in Government Committee. A native of Nicholas County, Ms. Kirtley is an active member of the Summersville Baptist Church and chairperson of the church’s finance committee.
