Morgantown, WV (September 16, 2021) – Kay Casto & Chaney PLLC is pleased to announce that Margaret (Molly) E. Lewis has joined the firm. Lewis focuses her practice in the areas of commercial litigation and insurance defense from the firm’s Morgantown office.
Lewis attended West Virginia University for undergraduate work, earning a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Studies (summa cum laude, 2003). She then went on to earn a Juris Doctorate from the West Virginia University College of Law, and graduated Order of the Coif (2006).
Following law school, Lewis joined the Clarksburg, WV firm of McNeer, Highland, McMunn & Varner, L.C., as an associate assisting trial attorneys in the defense of civil litigation matters. This experience led her to Shuman, McCuskey & Slicer, LLC in Morgantown, where for 10 years she was responsible for all aspects of case development and the defense of litigation matters including medical malpractice, construction defects, premises liability, as well as the preparation of appeals, and insurance coverage opinions. Her most recent legal experience was obtained at the Linkous Law Firm, PLLC, also in Morgantown, where Lewis continued to focus on medical malpractice.
Lewis holds Bar admissions in the State of West Virginia, the U.S. District Court/Southern District of West Virginia, the U.S. District Court/Northern District of West Virginia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Lewis is actively involved in the Monongalia County Bar Association, currently serving as Treasurer, and she is a member of the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.
Lewis has been honored by the editors of SuperLawyers as a “Rising Star.” She also holds a distinguished ranking from Martindale Hubbell, which highlights professional excellence.
